Feel free to stop by the classroom and check out a textbook if needed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Monday 5/21/12 Spanish II 2nd Block: Today we finished the interpretation of 'Las Tres Rejas'. No other homework. 4th Block: Today we finished the interpretation of 'Las Tres Rejas'. Then, we moved on to a new lesson on the 'Uses of Por'. Full lesson was given and two activities were assigend: Brown text, p. 326: activities 10 & 11. Spanish I 3rd block: Open book testing; select two activities from pages 18, 19 of blue text. Also, select two activities from pages 42 & 43. All inclass work; no other homework. Wednesday 5/16/12 Spanish II: Work on interpretation exercise 'Las Tres Rejas'. All inclass work; please get worksheet and work on this strictly in class, please. Spanish III: 2nd Block: One last assignment needs to be done. Please write a paper in which you explain the relationship between yourself and your college plans: 'El colegio y yo'. The idea is to explain in 150 to 200 words, in spanish, the reason for going or NOT going to college. Please use expressions such as 'yo creo que...', 'Yo pienso que...', 'yo digo que...'... -One additional in class assignment: brown text, p. 62, activities 10 & 11. (the preterite of irregular verbs) 3rd Block: Please finish translation of the parable: 'zanahorias, huevos, y café'. Do Not Use a digital translator, please. Tuesday 5/15/12 Spanish II 2nd Block: We've finished our dialogues and have enjoyed a Mexican meal after our work was completed. No other homework. 4th Block: Please finish and turn in dialogues and also finish and turn in the 'lectura' exercise worked on last time: Las Tres Rejas. Spanish I 3rd block: Reading Exercise on p. 159, please answer the 'comprendiste' questions, in full sentences, please. (blue text). Monday 5/14/12 Spanish II: Finish and turn in dialogue. Also work on Activities 1 & 2 of p. 92 (brown text) Spanish III: 2nd Block: Please translate the parable 'las tres rejas'. Get of copy of the document from instructor. This will be inclass work only. Spanish I 3rd block: Allowed a 'reward' day for good effort during the week...Listened to 'Zorro' in spanish. Your task is to write as many words as possible as you're able to hear. No other homework. Miércoles 5/9/12 Spanish II 2nd block did not meet due to Mr. Dettmer's visit. No homework. 4th block: Please continue to work on dialogue on Commands. It should be 100 words in length and must have a minimum of 30 words using these command forms. Typed. Also, please work on activity 3 on p. 331 of the blue book. Thursday 5/2/12 Spanish II, 2nd & 4th block: Work on a dialogue in which you use 'affirmative and negative tu commands'. Spanish I, 3rd block: Please work on Activities 1 thru 4 on pages 160-161. Tuesday 5/1/12 Spanish II, 2nd & 4th block: Covered 'Negative tú Commands'. See blue text p. 324 as reference. Do the following activities for homework: p. 324 #'s 13 & 14. Spanish I, 3rd block: Introduced two verbs: Conocer and Hacer...both of these verbs have irregular 'yo' forms. Please work on the following activities 15, 16 & 17 on page 153. Monday 4/30/12 SPANISH II: 1st Block: New Lesson on 'Negative tú Commands'...Reference on blue text, p. 324. Please do Activities 13 & 14 on pages 324 & 325. SPANISH III: 2nd/3rd Block A Theme was assigned today, to be written in Spanish making use of some of the phrases taught in class. One page, typed, 1 1/2 spaced and between 200 and 250 words...topic: Yo y la universidad... SPANISH I: 4th Block: Conjugation of verbs which are irregular in the 'yo' form. Reference, blue text, p. 153. Please work on activities 15, 16 & 17 on page 153. Thursday 4/26/12 SPANISH II: 1st Block: Reflexive Verbs & Affirmative tú Commands-irregular: Please work on worksheets 109 & 110 (handed out in class). SPANISH III: 2nd/3rd Block Discussion on '5th of May' celebration. We'll be having a 'Fiesta' on the 2nd of May. Groups were made and discussion was held as to Mexican dishes to prepare and overall set up. No other homework. SPANISH I: 4th Block: Covered Conjugation of 'er' and 'ir' verbs and worked on 10 sentences with a minimum of 8 words each. Each of the sentences needs to include at least on of the verbs on the list on p. 163 of the blue text. No other homework. Thursday 4/19/12 Spanish II, 2nd & 4th block: Covered 'affirmative tú commands' of irregular verbs. Please work on activities 10, 11, 12 on pages 322 & 323 of blue text. Spanish I, 3rd block: Worked hard on vocabulary...if you missed class today, please work on the following textbook activities...blue book, p. 142 & 143, figure out the meaning (translate) of the information on the bottom of the pictures. Make use of your vocabulary sheet. Also, we had a quiz, but for this you'll have to see me. Wed 4/18/12 Classes did not meet today due to State Testing and Freshman Forum...so no homework. Tuesday 4/17/12 1st & 2nd block did not meet due to State Testing- 3rd block-Spanish I: homework, blue text, activity 7 on p. 149 (ir + a + infinitive) 4th block: irregular forms of affirmative-tú- commands: homework, p. 322 of blue text, activity 10. Monday 4/16/12 SPANISH II: 1st Block: 30 minutes in class to finish piñatas. Covered irregular forms of 'affirmative tú forms'. Please work on blue text, p. 322, A.10. SPANISH III: 2nd/3rd Block Both classes went to Don Julio's today for a fun mexican-food meal. But, the 2nd block also had a chance to do an assignment out of the text: p. 14 of brown text, activity 15. SPANISH I: 4th Block: No homework. Thursday 4/12/12 SPANISH II: 1st Block: Today we finished our piñata project (well, almost done for everyone) and we also worked on some extra credit. Also we assigned a worksheet (MP, p. 47) which reenforces the concept of the imperfect tense. SPANISH I (2nd Block) Today we tested on Unit I, Etapa (chapter) 2. We also started our next chapter on 'La Familia'. First task (to be continued in class next time): define the key words in blue, pages 70-71. WED. 11/30/11 SPANISH I Today we had an exam on U1, E2. No homework assigned. On Friday we'll begin E3. SPANISH II Homework on the imperfect was turned in and we assigned an additional worksheet on this topic: MP p. 47. SPANISH III Today we translated a document from an insurance company-there was no homework assigned. FRI. 11/18/11 SPANISH I Please do activities 8, 9, 10 on p. 56 & 57 of blue text. SPANISH II No homework assigned. SPANISH III All work was done in class today: you must have completed worksheet pages 61 & 62 on direct and indirect object pronouns.
