Dear Parents,

Thank you again.  The children had a wonderful day and I have a very nice red bag on my desk waiting for me to open.  I think I will be enjoying a special day.  Thank you for your generosity.

Please be sure to check your child's backpack today.  I have given the children their summer math workbooks and a letter from Mrs. Vermillion.  Attached to her letter are some reading lists and book report forms.  These things (Math and Reading) need to be returned to her in August.  I have also sent home the extra crayons, scissors, folders, glue that you had sent and we did not use.  I have told the kids to give you all these supplies so you can pack them away for next year.

THank you.

See you tomorrow.

Dear Parents,

I just wanted to update a few things for you. This has been a busy but fun week. Today's picnic lunch was enjoyed by all. The children were great and we shared the time and space with our K friends. Thank you, Mrs. Meissner for the popsicle treats!

After lunch we enjoyed a buddy science period. The children spent the entire time working with their buddies. Half the time was spent in the lab working with microscopes. The other half was in first grade working on animals, endangered species and an opportunity to write a poem. It was a great time and thanks to Mrs. R who was gracious enough to open the lab to us and share her 7th grade science time. All enjoyed and learned from this experience.

Tomorrow we will enjoy our morning snack time with our buddies. If the weather is good we will have recess outside with them. There is nothing special as each child will take their own snack outside, which is what we normally do. This is not a gift time it is purely to spend time together. The first graders made cards for our buddies too. They only need one snack for Thursday. In the afternoon we celebrate the end of our very successful year in First Grade with a party arranged by our room mothers. Friday is a half day, only one snack and no PE.

I have given no homework for tonight. There will be no homework tomorrow as well. Since I had noted Math and Phonics I wanted to update this so you all were aware the children are correct--no homework.

It has truly been a privilege and a pleasure to work with your children and with each of you parents. I feel this class will achieve great things as they have done so well here in First Grade. I will encourage them to reach for the stars and continue to do their best always. I am grateful to all for the constant cooperation and support. I could not do what we were able to do this year were it not for all of you and your willingness to help. Thank you! I hope all have a wonderful summer and may God continue to bless each one of you and your families.

With gratitude,

Eileen Molino

Dear Parents,

Happy last week of school! It is difficult for me to believe that this is our last week of school! The year has truly flown! I know the children are ready for summer to begin. Before we head out to enjoy the pool and no schedules, I do want to remind you of a few happenings this week.

On Wednesday the children may bring a beach towel to use for our outdoor picnic lunch. We will be enjoying lunch with Mrs. Meissner and she is providing popsicles. We are very grateful to her for her dedication and support to First Grade. She came every week she was in town to read with us. This enabled us to have smaller reading groups to read our big story each week. The children loved working with her and she loved working with this class. She often told me how wonderful they were. I have said it many times, this is a great class and a wonderful group of children who know how to behave, work hard, and play nicely. It is a tribute to you parents. Other teachers who have been in my room always notice them and their work habits. It is a great start for their school career!

On Thursday we will celebrate an end of year party which our room mothers are planning. We look forward to celebrating the end of our year and the many successes all have enjoyed.

Have a safe and happy summer. I know all need some time to relax. We too look forward to that! I know you will keep the momentum going with reading and math on a daily basis. I hope to see some of you around Alexandria.

Many thanks for your constant support and assistance.

Wtih gratitude,

Eileen Molino
