Spring is on its way--hurray, hurray!! March 2nd is Theodor Seuss Geisel's birthday. Perhaps you and your 1st grader can honor the Pulitzer Prize winning "wordsmith" by serving "green eggs and ham" for breakfast that morning. Dr. Seuss completed materials are due Mon. MARCH 29, so keep reading for "It doesn't matter whether you're big or small--helping spread the joy of reading can be a gift from all." Enjoy!! The students are busy preparing for their MARCH 5th Australia program. Thanks again to Ed Junkins and his Fabulous Fathers for this unique experience. The 1st graders will continue to expand their appreciation of the arts by enjoying a field trip to Symphony Hall on MARCH 19th--hard work deserves recognition and an enjoyable outing. Parent conferences are scheduled for the afternoons of MARCH 18th and 19th. We are all looking forward to dialoguing with our precious parents. Missoula Theater will be the week of MARCH 22. We hope our 1st graders will take the lead and try out. Another exciting event that will be coming up shortly: Our Invention Convention on APRIL 16th. Please begin brainstorming an invention your student can create to share with our class. We will set up the inventions on tables to be toured by fellow "smart cookies." Moms, we would appreciate your help once again in the "reception area" to reward our creative inventors. An "invention" form to accompany and complete will go home with your student on MARCH 26th. All inventions are due in the classroom on APRIL 15th. Please haven them in a box so that they will be safe for presentation. Listed below are center times requested for March: 8th Fedor 16th Williams 9th Welch 22nd Larson 10th Cloward 23rd Bogenschutz 15th Griffis 24th Keller Thank you in advance for your continuous support of your "Fabulous First Graders." We look forward to seeing you at our musical "The Magic Tree House Goes Down Under." Blessings Always, First Grade Teachers |
