REMINDERS:

Our school Book Fair is coming!  Please refer to the information that was sent home for more information regarding this fun event.  Our room will be attending the book fair on Tuesday, November 17th during 8th period (1:15-1:55).  You are welcome to join your child at the book fair at this time.  There will be helpers at the book fair to help your child shop, if you cannot attend.  Please send in all money/checks to school in a sealed envelope marked with your child's name and "Book Fair" by Tuesday, November 17th.  Thanks so much!!

The students had a lovely Halloween parade and party.  They all looked terrific in their costumes!  Thank you to Mrs. Tinney, Mrs. Steffensen, and Mrs. Williams for all your help with the Halloween party.  The students had a wonderful time!!!

The theme of this week is Colors.  We will be working with the letters Kk and Ll.  The students will be putting kidney beans on Kk and lace on Ll.  The students will be making a book that they can read.  The book will use the sight words, I, see, and my.  We will also continue our daily review of the sight words:  I --  see  --  a  --  and  --  the  --  cat  --  my -- like .   Please help your child practice the sight words that were sent home.  Daily fun review is very helpful when learning to read these new words.

In math, we will continue working with the numbers 1-5 (counting and writing).  We will also be working on looking at data and making graphs.

In Religion, we are learning about Noah.  The students will be learning about the story of Noah, the ark, and the rainbow.  The rainbow is a perfect example to learn about as we work with our theme of colors.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please send in a note or email me at:  austazewski@aquinasacademy.org

Thank you so much, and have a great week!

Mrs. Ustazewski
