Grade 1

Reading: 

Read A Job for You and Cool Jobs.  Review vocabulary and read story nightly.  Due to the Crusade this Friday, our test will be Thursday, May 10th.

Vocabulary:  interesting, only, laugh, build, goes, ordinary

******Remember to Read a Book of Your Choice - AR goal for the month of May:  1 Book and passing AR quiz

Math: 

Monday- DHP 87

Tuesday- DHP 88

Wednesday- DHP 89

Thursday- DHP 90

MONEY --- MONEY --- MONEY

Please keep the test your child took on money at home for review.  Counting money is a difficult and developmental skill.  Even though we are moving on with working on addition and subtraction facts to/from 20, PLEASE have your child continue to practice counting different sets of coins at home.  They can try counting groups of pennies or nickels or dimes or quarters.  If your child is having difficulty, start small and build up as your child's skills increase.  Please have your child practice this skill throughout the summer as well.

Telling Time

Please help your child continue to practice the skill of telling time.  They need to be able to tell time to the hour and 1/2 hour, but if your child can do more, that's great!  Please help your child practice this important skill whenever you can.  Thank you!

Grade 2

Reading:  

Read Nutik the Wolf Pup nightly and practice vocabulary and skills.  The test will be Wednesday, May 16th.

Vocabulary: beloved, promised, wiggled, gleamed, glanced, noble

******Remember to Read a Book of Your Choice - AR Requirement for May:  4 picture books or 1 chapter book with passing AR quizzes

Math: 

The students are working on the concept of measurement. 

Monday -  DHP 76 and 77

Tuesday - DHP 78

Wednesday - DHP 79 and 80

Thursday - No Homework

Grade 3 

Reading: 

Monday - New Vocabulary introduced tor the story, Stone Soup.  Review story, vocabulary and definitions throughout the week.  Students will be completing  story review sheets on Wednesday in lieu of a selection test.

Vocabulary:  guests, banquet, agreeable, curiosity, gaze, untrusting

******Remember to Read a Book of Your Choice - AR Requirement for the 4th Quarter:  2 chapter books with passing AR quizzes.
