Dear Junior High Parents,

Thank you for supporting your child during the last two weeks especially by assisting them in preparation of the science fair.  The science fair was very successful.  The judges were very impressed with the students.  Three of the six judges were not previous judges of our science fairs.  They were impressed with the topics and the fact that the students were able to discuss their projects.

Now it is time to prepare for the Terra Nova Tests scheduled for this month.  Students in 6th grade have already received packets that will be corrected and discussed during classes this week.  In Language Arts, there is a section in the Writer's Choice Book dedicated to Standardized Testing.  We will use this material for review during class time. Students will have homework nightly in the textbook and worksheets.  Please encourage them to take their time in reading and to dedicate at list one hour an evening to quite studying.

6th grade students will be reading MARK TWAIN'S HUMOROUS STORIES AND SKETCHES.  The book is $2.00.  Please send cash in by March 10th.

7th and 8th graders will receive packets for review and they also will be corrected and discussed during the week.

Please encourage your child to study nightly.  Unfortunately, they have not!  They will br bringing test papers and worksheets on Friday.  Please review them and encourage them to review material.  6th grade will have a test on Adjectives on Wednesday.  A pretest will be given on Monday.  Sadlier - Chapter 13 test will be given on Friday for 6th grade.  All three classes will have Chapter Tests in science on Thursday!  The end of the quarter is coming fast.  Report Cards will go home on March 31, 2010.

Next week, no tests will be scheduled.

Mrs. Tomko is having a meeting on Thursday, March 11, to discuss the Terra Nova Test.  It would be beneficial to parents to attend this informative meeting.
