WELCOME TO ART CLASS!

All classes will have the opportunity to make art using various supplies such as crayons, markers, paint, colored pencils, oil pastels, and collage. The art we make varies by grade level. We will talk about and see examples of art from famous artists throughout history. Students will see how art can cross the curriculum and support other subjects such as math, science, and language arts.

All classes will begin by drawing and coloring a cover for their folders/sketchbooks. Then all classes will learn about the color wheel and different color schemes.

***SUPPLY LIST***

PENCIL ( A MUST EVERY DAY)

I will provide everything else for each student.                    (You may bring in your own crayons, color pencils, markers and fine point SHARPIE, if you like.)

***GRADING***
Grades in art class are based largely on:

EFFORT---Did you try your best?

PARTICIPATION---Did you use your class time wisely?

NEATNESS---Did you color, draw, or paint it carefully?

FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS---Did you the follow directions for the art work?

COMPLETION---Did you finish the art work and turn it in? (Students are given plenty of class time to complete all art. If students ever need to stay after school to finish their art they are welcome to do so. Just let me know!)
