It has lots of different background to include. Speech bubbles can be added. Students would really enjoy all these different types of stories they could create. (Grades 2 and above) iRubric - http://www.rcampus.com/indexrubric.cfm - Create or find rubrics that have already been created. (Any teacher that uses rubrics) Shape Collage - www.shapecollage.com Students could take or collect photos of a topic, like an animal, and use this to create a collage image to include in their report. They could also be assigned a shape and find/collect real world examples of that shape and quickly display them in the shape, using this program. (2nd and above) Computer Lab Favorites/Scholastic.com Teacher - http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/clf/index.htm - This site has quite a few good resources. There are some bad one, to not bother with, but review them and you’ll probably like a lot of what you see. (K-5) Exploratree - http://www.exploratree.org.uk/ Mapping site that generates graphic organizers. (Any grade that uses graphic organizers) Mind Mapping - Mindomo - http://www.mindomo.com/index.htm - Another mapping site. (Any grade that uses graphic organizers) Inspired Learning Community - http://www.inspiration.com/community/ - Networking site of teachers to share lessons and ideas created regarding visual learning, Inspiration, InspireData and Kidspiration. (K-6) Glogster EDU - http://edu.glogster.com - This site allows a teacher to sign up 100 student accounts (after March 1) for the creation of posters projects. If you sign up by February 28, you can get 200 free student accounts. (grades 3-12) Petfundango - http.//www.petfundango.com/teachers - Many classrooms still have pets. This websites provides tips as well as lesson plans and activities to make pets in the classroom as more rewarding experience. (grades K-5) Character Counts - http://charactercounts.org/resources/index.html - The ideas on this site are to help teach character education. They include lesson plans and worksheets. There is the opportunity to purchase additional supplies from Josephson Institute - Center for Youth Ethics, but it is not necessary. (grades K-8) teAchnology - http://www.teach-nology.com - This website provides lesson plans, tips, themes, games, worksheets, downloads, webquests and more in all subjects to help any teacher be prepared. A special section is provided for monthly ideas. (grades K-12) Thinkfinity - http://www.thinkfinity.org - This website provides interactive games, maps, and activities in many different subject areas. It has links for educators, students and parents. It lists 21st Century Skills and combines current events since it is a product of the Verizon Foundation. (grades K-12) www.eyePlorer.com A new kind of search engine- claims to search internet more like the brain thinks. Puts the found information in a color coded wheel. (K-12) www.boxoftricks.net A huge amount of free online technology resources for teachers to use. Listed in alphabetical order.
