Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

          I will be your child's teacher for all ELA subject areas including: reading, language (grammar/vocabulary/spelling), listening/speaking, and writing, as well as science and art.  Please use this web page to find out about classroom announcements, daily homework, test schedules, and project/special assignment information.  If you should ever have any questions about anything happening in our classroom, please send me an email by clicking on my name above, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  I will update this site on a weekly basis, but please note that information is always subject to change, so it's important the students record all information each day in their assignment books.  Thank you for helping to make this school year very enjoyable and productive for everyone!

                                                                                  ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE

Science - Lesson 2 test (Gravitational Force) Week of 2/13

Reading - Beginning 2/6, the students will be making connections of theme and genre using evidence of our Unit 2 passages.  The students will work through a guided brainstorm stage before putting their evidence of unit theme and genre into writing.  The students will be working in pairs for this assessment.

Vocabulary/Spelling - Unit 3 Part 2 Week of 2/13

English - Reflexive/Intensive Pronouns quick check quiz FRI. 2/10

Listening Skill - Assessment #3 THURS. 2/9

Writing - The students are finished drafting their character sketch essays, so we will work through a revising/editing workshop before on to our second drafts.

                                                    ALTERNATIVE ASSESSMENTS

Speaking Skills - All students will share their Character Sketches with their fellow classmates throughout the week of Feb. 13.  The students have finished their final copies of this writing, so they will have some time to practice reading their essay aloud working on expression, tone, and eye contact (public speaking skills we have been working on).  We are all looking forward to hearing these!!!
