DISCIPLINE POLICY

Our discipline policy for the 2011-2012 school year includes earning plusses for good behavior and work ethics, and zeroes for poor behavior choices and not completing assignments.  We feel it necessary to keep structure in the class so students can enjoy a successful year.

TO EARN PLUSSES (+)

(including but not limited to)

*      Handing in homework early

*      Consistent handing in of homework on time

*      Starting the warm up before the bell rings

*      Participation in class

*      Helping others

*      Showing respect to students and teachers

*      Good hallway behavior (quiet, single line)

*      Consistently prepared for class

If there are 3 zeroes, student will either be sent from room (if they happen within the same class) and a call or email will go home, or student will fill out a behavior form for parent/guardian to sign and return.  If form isn't signed and returned, student will call home from class and may receive other consequences.

New plus and zero marks will begin each month.  Note that if zeroes outnumber the plusses (or cancel each other out), student will not be involved in monthly cash in or other privileges and rewards.

TO GET ZEROES (0)

(including but not limited to)

*      Late for class

*      Not starting work after the bell rings

*      Not being in assigned seat after the bell rings

*      Not getting quiet after signal is given

*      Disrupting class

*      Disrespect to teacher or student

*      Horseplay

*      Inappropriate hallway behavior
