 In support of FCCLA week they are running a contest of most spirited class most dressed up in support of FCCLA as a class

Winners will win Cupcakes and High School class will win a spirit stick. Please stay within school appropriate attire dress code.

Valentine Flowers Sale Project Prom is sell Flower’s for Valentine Roses Dozen in vase $40.00 ½ Dozen in vase $25.00 Single in sleeve $4.00 Pink Carnations 1 dozen in vase $20.00 ½ Dozen in vase $12.00 Single in sleeve $2.00 Order no later than Friday February 10, 2012.  Flowers will be delivered to the student Tuesday, February 14th. Outside orders may be picked up on that afternoon also.

 

Student Council will begin selling candy grams and singing telegrams for Valentine's day
on February 1st. Candy grams and singing telegrams are $2.00 each or get both for $3.00!

Srs:  The Seth Thomas Memorial Scholarship application is now available.  This is a local
scholarship.  Must be in either 4-H or FFA.  Deadline is June 1st.  See Mr. Ewing for
details.

Srs:  The West-Central Agri services MFA scholarship application is now available.  You DO
NOT have to be majoring in an agriculturally-related field.  Deadline is March 15th.  See
Mr. Ewing if interested.

 

High School Boys If anyone is interested in Mo Boys State, see Mr. Ewing. Deadline to apply is March, 15th.

 

Srs:  A representative of Fort Scott Community College will be here at 1:30 on February  
16th.  See Mr. Ewing if you plan to attend.

 

Srs: Harmony Mission DAR is offering the Irene and Leeta Wagy Memorial Scholarship. Deadline is March 1st See Mr. Ewing for Details.

 


Srs.:  The Opal M. Huffman Scholarship Program is now taking scholarships.  This is a
local scholarship that will go to a Bates County student.  Criteria and application can
be found at           
http://www.gkccf.org/scholarships/opal-m-huffman-charitable-trust-fund. This is an
online application process.  Deadline is March 15th.  See Mr. Ewing for details.

Srs:  The Best Buy Scholarship Program is now accepting applications.  This is an online
application process.  You can apply at www.bestbuy-communityrelations.com.  Deadline is February 15th.  See Mr. Ewing for details.


Srs pursuing a career in education:  West Central Retired School Personnel Association is
offering a scholarship.  Must be pursuing a career as a teacher.  Deadline is March 1,
2012.  See Mr. Ewing if interested.

 

If anyone is interested in attending the American Legion Cadet patrol Academy, please let Mr. Ewing know. Deadline for registration is February 9th.  Must be in by April 1st and no one older then 18.

 

 

Srs.The Country Mart Scholarship Contest is now open.  Registration deadline is
December 15th and sponsor enrollment deadline is March 31st.  Sponsor purchases begin to
be tracked on January 1st.  See Mr. Ewing for details.

CT Takers:  Mr. Ewing has located some ACT practice problems if you are interested in
obtaining a copy.  Included are answer keys so that you can check your work with
explanations for each answer where applicable.  See Mr. Ewing if interested.


Srs: In addition to the scholarships that come across his desk, Mr.Ewing wanted to 
alert you to a scholarship website called astweb.com.  Though not the only site of
out there, it has been the most user-friendly site he's found.  You can do a scholarship search, you can also set up an account with a profile.  This profile allows them to notify your e-mail with scholarships that you may be interested in applying for as based on your profile.  This is certainly an independent way of locating scholarships, but if Mr.Ewing can be help in setting up your account or helping you with an application  

process for a scholarship you've located, please feel free to contact him.

Seniors:The American Legion is also offering other various scholarships. Certain scholarships require certain criteria. For example, there is a nursing scholarship and a teaching scholarship in which state finalists will receive a scholarship.

Srs. Beginning December 1, The KFC Scholars' Program is accepting online scholarship
applications.  Deadline is Feb. 8th.  See Mr. Ewing if interested.

High School Girls:  If you are interested in attending Missouri Girls' State, please see
Mr. Ewing.  Registration deadline is March 15th.

 

ADVISEE SCHEDULE
