Congratulations to Carly Buchholz, who has won a popcorn and movie party from the St. Bernadette Gala for the third grade which will be celebrated on Thurs. May 31st.

Congratulations to Ricky Rembert, who has won a pizza party for his homeroom, 201, from the St. Bernadette Gala for Monday, June 4th.

As part of our field trip money, Joe Wos, a cartoonist will be presenting an art workshop for the 3rd. and 4th. grades on Mon. June 4th. in the PM.

There will be many interruptions during May.  I will still be teaching lots of information and expecting them to learn.  I am giving time in class.  Please encourage them to make GOOD USE of their time, or they will have more work in the evening than I want them to have.  Also, please encourage your child to bring home their workbooks, so you can see what they are doing.  They also need to bring their books back to school every day.   Thank You!!!!!!

Oral reports on the animal research project will be presented Thursday and Friday.  Each child should have brought home their rough draft booklets, including their notes and dittos about presenting an oral report.

Simple Solutions workbooks will be collected this week; be sure they are complete.

Religion - We will be learning the chapter "We are God's Holy People"

Reading - We will be reading a Beverly Cleary story,  and completing PB pages to go along with this story.  They will have time in class to work on this.  Please encourage them to bring these books home, so you can see that they completed the work.  New vocabulary words will be presented; they will write sentences using the words.

English - We will be reviewing parts of speech.  I will be sending home the "help pages" from their simple solutions workbooks.  Please review these with them, then keep them at home.  They are a helpful resource.  I will be giving them tests from the over-all simple solutions curriculum, on grammar skills we have worked on all year.

Simple Solutions = We complete a lesson a day.  These lessons are an overview of grammar skills; they are continually repeated.  We take a quiz on the four lessons completed during the week on Friday.  Please encourage your child to bring this book home to be sure it is completed.  I will be collecting them in 2 weeks.

Handwriting - Please encourage them to write in cursive at home.  Please continue to practice capital letters.  I do have handwriting cards in the room.  If they need to bring these home to practice, they are welcome to do that.
