Jan.  5- 9th  Happy New Year

 Well, I apologize for not updating my schoolnotes until now.  I hope that everone had a wonderful Christmas break.  Thank you parents for everything that you sent in for the party and for the wonderful gifts from your children.

I cannot express how much your thoughtfulness and generosity means to me.  I am so thankful and blessed with such wonderful families.

 LISDOLA

We had a blast yesterday at LISDOLA.  Please ask your child about the trip.  They were a great group and we received a compliment from the director out there. He said they were very motivated and polite.  Thank you parents!! 

  Helpful hints for this week:

1. Please make sure that your child is taking responsibility for his/her homework, and reading logs.   

2. Please make sure that your child is practicing multiplication facts daily. Math facts should be completely mastered by this point. He/she must know them in order to be successful in division and with word problems.

3. Please remember to have your child bring a water bottle and a healthy snack to school and a warm jacket.  

4. Please note that we will no longer have an I C.A.R.E form in their take home folder.  We will have a class book that they will need to sign if they break a classroom rule.

6.  Please keep all spelling 1/2 sheets! Your child will need to use these to study for the cumulative 6 weeks quiz. We will have that quiz this week.

New Field Trip  Opportunity

The entire 4th grade will be going to Casa Manana to see a musical "The Alamo."  This ties directly into our Social Studies Curriculum. This is a wonderful opportunity for the kids and we just found out about it yesterday.   We will be going on Jan. 21st.  Yes, that is just two weeks away, but we just found out about this musical yesterday.  The cost is $12.00 per students and we need to turn in the money on Friday.  All fourth grade students are being asked to submit their money by this friday.  Cash or a check made payable to WES.   A letter is coming home today in their purple take home folder. This letter has all the details for this wonderful field trip.   

      Our lessons for the week are:

Reading – The Case of Pablo's nose

Math -   Units of Time and Elapsed Time

Writing -  We will write about LISDOLA and review the use of possessive nouns

Spelling - 

Social Studies with Mrs. Pulley :  See her schoolnotes

Science -  Conduct a group science experiment that involves a chemical reaction
