We are resting comfortably during our Spring Break, enjoying the beach, time with family and friends, and getting caught up on all the things we have been saving to do. I hate to pop this wonderful thought bubble, but we still have the very last 9 weeks of school waiting for us to experience! When we return please keep in mind: For 10th graders: we need to pick up on our research of our Thesis statements for the MultiGenre Research Project which constitutes the final exam for 10th graders. Remember, you need 7 genres, a minimum of 7 source cards, 35 notecards (five for each source average), the notecards needs the direct quote from your research, underneath your paraphrasing of that DQ, and on the back of the card you need two commentaries or personal opinions about the DQ. You need 1500 total word count with the WC on the bottom or back of each of your 7 genres. Also, each genre needs three unique, different infor from any other genre, researched information HIGHLIGHTED. We will work on our table of contents, thesis statement, and MLA handing indentions on the works cited in the English Lab. You need to work with completing your research at home b/c we have no more media days scheduled. Only the four days we have already used in the media center was what we could schedule during classtime. This project is 25% of your English 2 grade and you cannot pass without it. For 11th graders: we need to make an appointment with each other right after your 1st submissions have been returned on 4/12 to start correcting errors and getting all rubric scores on the left two columns of the scoring sheet. We will have 2nd/final submissions due on Thursday 4/29. On 4/30 your 1st Reflections are due and on 5/3 we start with two weeks of individual classroom presentations. Remember, you cannot pass English 3 without passing the North Carolina Graduation Project Junior Paper. Please be ready to hit the last 9 weeks energized and commited to following through so you can end the semester successfully. I am so proud of each of you and confident you will finish the semester in NBH style. Good Luck and enjoy Spring Break-you deserve it! |
