Assignments of the Week of April 19: Each day students have a reading assignment in the multicultural novel each group is reading in the Literature Circle format. In addition to reading the assigned pages (different for each group), students have a different role (job) to fulfill each day: summarizer, word finder, passage picker, or discussion director. Points are given each day for those who completed their job in a satisfactory manner. At the end of the unit (May 3), students will write a cause-effect paper based on geographical, cultural, ethic, or political influences on the life of the main character. Each day before Literature Circles, I am teaching a mini-lesson on grammar usage. This week will be pronoun usage. |
