Title I...

 is the largest federally funded program in the United States.  Title I began with the passage of the Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 and was reauthorized by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. 

The goal of Title I...

  is to provide instructional services and activities to help ensure that ALL children have an opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach grade-level proficiency.  Students can receive help in both reading and math.

The Schoolwide Title I program...

 at Granite Quarry Elementary provides financial assistance to benefit ALL students.  The program provides extra educational assistance to students who are behind academically or at risk of falling behind.  

Other Services Include:

* tutoring

* hiring teachers to reduce class size

* parental involvement activities

* professional development

* purchase of materials and supplies

* hiring instructional assistants

* provide resources, such as computers
