ALL UPPER GRADE MUSIC CLASSES (GRADES 4 - 8):  PLEASE CHECK SCHOOLNOTES WEEKLY.  FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR, I WILL POST NOTICES BEFORE MUSIC ASSESSMENTS THAT REQUIRE AT-HOME STUDY. (PARENTS - STUDENTS ALSO WRITE REMINDERS IN THEIR HOMEWORK BOOKS; HOWEVER, SOMETIMES A STUDENT IS ABSENT AND THEIR HOMEWORK PARTNER DOESN'T PASS THE INFORMATION TO THEM. I ALSO REGULARLY ALLOW QUIET TIME BEFORE TESTS FOR STUDENTS TO DO A FINAL REVIEW, ALTHOUGH SOME STUDENTS THINK THIS IS A REPLACEMENT FOR AT-HOME STUDY.)  THANK YOU.

There are only 2 or 3 rehearsals left until the Christmas Concert on Monday December 14th!  All students must attend the remaining rehearsals.  Our choirs are small this year and we need EVERYONE to be here.  CONCERT DRESS FOR THE EVENING CONCERT IS BLACK PANTS OR BELOW-KNEE SKIRT AND WHITE SHIRT OR BLOUSE, LONG SLEEVE (button down school shirt is ok, no polos).  Thank you. 

CHORUS -  Grades 2-4.  PICK UP TIME UNTIL THE CHRISTMAS CONCERT WILL BE 3:55 PM.   There is NO rehearsal on Wednesday November 25th, as that is a half-day dismissal and start of Thanksgiving holidays.

CONCERT CHOIR - Grades 5-8.  WE WILL HAVE A FEW EXTRA LUNCHTIME REHEARSALS, AS NEEDED, TO FINISH LEARNING OUR MUSIC.   Please listen to lunchtime announcements.

ARCHDIOCESAN CHORAL FESTIVAL - We arel sending 4  students (the maximum allotted to us) from Grades 4-6 to participate in the one-day festival to be held at Bishop Shanahan High School on Monday, February 22, 2010.  (You must be a member of SSJ Chorus or Concert Choir all year to participate.)

KEYSTONE STATE BOYCHOIR FESTIVAL has been postponed until February 2010!  This means we can now consider participating again!  I will keep you posted with details as I receive them...

Congratulations to Tommy Russell, grade 7, who successfully auditioned as a percussionist for the 2010 Archdiocesan Honor Band, and to Sam D'Amore, grade 5, who will play trumpet in the Archdiocesan Festival Band.
