Mrs. Powell's Safari of Learning School Theme: Wild About Learning! Reminders: March 22nd - Dictionary Day begins at 11:00- If you have not sent back your letter telling us if you can come or not, please do so soon. Once we have completed our activities you can meet us at the cafeteria for lunch. March 23rd - Early Release Day April 3rd - Multicultural Night - Come and join a night full of fun and food. Egg Hunt - TBD Easter Party will be on April 3rd unless I hear differently. April 3rd - Report cards will go home on this day.
Reading Logs You are doing a great job with our logs. It is easy to see who is doing a lot of reading at home. The students should be doing most of the reading at this point. Be sure to ask questions about the story to see if they have retained what they have heard.

Areas to work on at home if your child is having any trouble: letters sounds numbers (recognition, writing, counting sets, missing number, and putting numbers in correct order) high frequency words writing a story - 2 or more sentences at least reading a story with fluency Making patterns Safari Guides Information Station Lunch is from 12:10- 12:40 Quick reminder: Please send money in an envelope or baggie with your child's name on it or a paper in the baggie telling what the money is for. Place this in the front pocket of the agenda. We do not want money to get lost or confused about who it really belongs to. Ice Cream will be on Fridays. You can send in .60 on this day or write a note in your child's agenda saying they can use money from their account. Transportation: Please write us a note in the agenda if your child will have a different mode of transportation. Without a note we will have to send your child home the usual way. Emergency Numbers: Let us know if your address or phone numbers change at all during the year. It is very important that we have a number to reach you at if your child were to get sick or hurt. "Toad-ally" Awesome Behavior Rules: 1. I will be a good listener. 2. I will respect my friends and my school. 3. I will keep my hands, feet, and other objects to myself. 4. I will work and travel quietly in the school. 5. I will always do my best! Children will work on earning points each week to earn a prize. Children have to earn 40 or more points to earn a prize. If they do not earn this amount, they will not receive a prize. They can earn up to 14 points each day. Consequences: 6 points - warning 4 points - note home and silent lunch 2 points - phone call home O points = a visit to the office. ***Children do have a chance each day to move their frog back up if they fall below 8. This way they are given the chance to turn around their day. Please send me note, email me, or call if you ever have any questions.
