Welcome to Kindergarten for the 2011-2012 School Year!!


Hi, I am Stephanie Haugen and I, along with my assistant Traci Tipton, look forward to having a great year with your child. I've taught Kindergarten for 2 years here at Millbridge. I had an overwhelming amount of support from all of my parents and that is something money can't buy! This year is going to be GREAT! We are very excited to see how much growth your child will make in such a short time.


Don't forget to send in a snack as well as your child's agenda initialed or signed daily.


Homework isn't due until Friday but we will accept it all complete any time throughout the week.


If you have any changes with how your child will get home please send a note

in your child's agenda.

  • The sounds of the letters of the alphabet
  • The names of those letters
  • What the letters look like
  • About our classmates (favorite color, food, candy, pet)
  • The basic colors (red, blue, yellow, purple, orange, green, pink, brown, black, white, gray)
  • The months of the year
  • The days of the week
  • How to use technology appropriately
  • Sort objects by color, shape, or size
  • Directions and positions of items (left, right, top, middle, bottom, before, after)
  • Patterns - color, shape, item, sound, motion
  • Sounding out simple 3 letter words (CVC pattern: consonant, vowel, consonant; Ex. cat)


The public library is a great place to start reading for your child's reading goal and they have a great selection for FREE!!!
