ACCELERATED READER (AR):

All Fourth Grade students will participate in the Accelerated Reading Program (AR). For every Quarter, each student will be required to read 3 AR books. Every student should strive for an 80% accuracy rate. As AR will be included in your child's Reading Grade as a test score, it is essential that your child read a grade-level appropriate book thoroughly before attempting to take a test. I will evaluate your child's progress and adjust AR goals and levels throughout the year. AR books can be checked out of our School library on Thursdays. Fourth Graders may check out two books each week. If you are visiting the Public Library, a complete AR list can be found on the Blessed Trinity Website. I will be monitoring each student's progress and test scores individually. I try to schedule approximately 15 minutes of quality, uninterrupted reading every day. An AR Book should be brought to school every day. I highly recommend a minimum of 20 minutes of reading time every night. My goal is to enhance the reading program, challenge the students, encourage their love for reading, and reward them for their effort.
