 Homework Homework is very important in a student's education. It reinforces what they have learned in class. If for some reason your child does not understand his/her homework assignment, please write me a note via their planner or through e-mail and I will help them in the morning. When your child comes home from school, ask them what they learned in class. Your child wants you to be part of their school life. Support them in all they do! **They will have Math homework every night except for Friday nights. They also need to read 10 to 15 minutes every night! Words of the Week: but, just, ride, many ReadingSame as last week since this week is so short! Phonics skills: We will focus on reviewing phonics skills and word parts and pals. Comprehensions Strategies: We will revisit decoding strategies such as: “reread for understanding”, “self-correct” words that do not make sense. We will continue with our personal narrative writing unit. This week we will focus on writing a personal narrative with a “helping theme”. We will continue to use the writing process: pre-writing, drafting,revising, proofreading and publishing. Math: This week we will continue with our math unit 3. We will focus on adding and subtracting on the number line and telling time to the half hour. Please continue to practice their addition facts at home.
