Positive Behavior Support

Our school is focusing on Patriot Pride which expects all students to enhance and maintain three areas of expectations: respect, integrity, and being an active participant.  This plan, Positive Behavior support (PBS), is a problem-solving behavior plan that focuses on promoting appropriate behavior.  This is a school-wide plan that expects students to display appropriate social skills and behaviors throughout the school.

Classroom Management Strategies

Patriot Bucks

All students will have the opportunity to earn Patriot Bucks.  As students earn Patriot Bucks, they will have the opportunity to “spend” their bucks on rewards such as:  homework passes, special privileges, tickets to dances or games, etc.

We believe that students will come to us and show respect, integrity, and will be active participants in our classes. All 7th grade classes will use the same strategies to ensure a positive learning environment for all of our students. We will reinforce these expectations with the following strategies.

1st action – Warning/Reteach Behavior Expectation

2nd action – Better Choice Letter– letter will be sent home for parent signature

3rd action – Classroom Management Strategy (in-house, classroom isolation, silent lunch, phone call home, etc.)

4th action – Detention

5th action – Referral to office

We ask that you work closely with us, appropriate behavior in the classroom greatly enhances your child’s learning experience.  Depending on the circumstances, a more immediate action may be taken.
