Happy 2009!  I hope that all of you had a safe and happy winter break.  I am happy to see all of my smiling students again.

 

This week we will be focusing on the classic story, The Three Little Pigs.  We will read several versions of the story.  Students will make their own story book and create a storyboard to use in their retelling of the story.

 

Math- Students will participate in activities involving patterns, sorting, and addition.

 

Other Information:

Stanford Testing will be next week--- Jan. 12th - 16th.  A portion of the test will be given each morning when they are fresh.  These scores are only used for placement in the Gifted and Talented program.  Please do not over-emphasize the test.  It is a hard week for everyone.  I will explain to the kids that the test will have Prek-2nd grade information.  We will talk about the fact that they are not supposed to know everything.  The only test preparation needed is a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast.  This Friday we will have a practice test.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
