Here are some things that you should be focusing on during your sophomore year in high school:
- If you have not already done so create a CFNC account at www.cfnc.org. CFNC is a great way to search for colleges, tour campuses online, get financial aid information, and apply to college.
- If you alreday have an account update your high school planner with grades, test scores, extracurricular activities, etc. at CFNC. Take tours of colleges online and figure out where you want to visit next summer.
- Meet with Ms. Mueller to review your course load and make sure you are satisfying high school graduation and college entrance requirements. If you are interested in attending a selective college talk with Ms. Mueller abotu what courses you should be taking your junior year.
- Take the PSAT in October. The PSAT is excellent practice for taking the SAT. Sophomores who have taken or are currently enrolled in Geometry and Algebra II are eligible to take the PSAT. The cost is $16.
- Consider summer programs, workshops, and campus with a specialty focus such as computer, dance, drama, leadership, science, music, etc.
