Description

 

Studies transportation technology as it applies to vehicular and support systems for moving people cargo in various environments.  The effects of transportation technology on individuals, society, and the environment, as well as the evolution of transportation are introduced and explored.

 

Course Objectives

 

Upon completion of this course, students will:

  1. Design, fabricate, test and evaluate a land, atmospheric, marine and space transportation system.
  2. Understand the principles of aerodynamics
  3. Explore and experiment with traditional and alternative fuels
  4. Describe how pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical energy are used in transportation systems.
  5. Identify and describe the historical innovations in evolution of transportation systems and their impact on our society, economy and environment.
  6. Safely use common tools, machines, materials, and processes to design and build transportation devices.
  7. Through use of a presentation the student will demonstrate   how elements of science, society, history, environment and economy, all have an impact on transportation systems.
