Do research and uncover a list of ten ANCIENT (or let's say pre 1800) inventions that can be credited to the Chinese.  Beyond listing ten inventions, please give a brief description of what the invention did and the approximate year of discovery.  Silk and paper money are two examples.  You can use your book or go online to compile this list.  We will talk about your list in tomorrow's class.

Over the weekend each student is responsible for handing in a one pager, with the name of their partner for the project (or a note saying individual if that is the case), with their project topic, and what website they expect to use as the primary source of information.  The website should not be general (and say something like google), it should be a specific site, such as: www.history.org/firstcrusade (etc).  I will be checking the website for its accuracy after receiving your sheet.  This is part of your project grade.

This will be explained thoroughly in class and you can always see me for any questions, comments, and concerns.

The test has been pushed back to Wednesday, on account of Tuesday being a short day.  So plan on Wednesday for the Test.  The format is 66 multiple choice questions (no essays, short answers, or maps).  You will have the entire 45 minute class on Wednesday plus one hour after school on Wednesday to finish (if necessary).  Please make arrangements to finish the test after school Wednesday ONLY.  No exceptions will be allowed, barring absences or teacher approved emergencies.

Use tonight to study for Wednesday's test based on what we discussed in class today.

I am excited for a new school year!  Welcome to 8th grade World History.  

Tonight's only homework is to complete the parent contact information sheet and bring it in for Wednesday's class.  It is important that I have an easy way to communicate with your parent or guardian, so please make sure you complete this task.  It is the easiest homework assignment ever because your parents need to do the work!  Can't beat that.
