Mr. McGarry ______________________________________________________________________________________ Tuesday January 8th, 2013 through Monday January 14th, 2013 The next few nights of homework are focused on the creative writing assignment introduced in class this week. Remember this assignment is due on Monday January 14th. You are to write a 2-page story through the first person perspective of a character you create from the Christian and Muslim battle at Jerusalem during the First Crusade. This should be a descriptive account and your character can range from Christian priest or warrior to Muslim warrior, cleric, or civilian. The assignment should be two pages in length and if typed should be 12 point font and double spaced. Make sure your story is historically accurate with weapons, machinery, and other items from the year 1099 CE. Looking forward to reading your stories - always one of my favorite things to correct every year. Now due Tuesday!! Remember the project is a 12 to 15 slide powerpoint presentation on the subject of Crusades you chose from our list on the Friday before vacation. Be prepared on Tuesday January 8th, when you arrive to class, to have either previously emailed the powerpoint or bring it in on a jump drive. The project must have a title slide and a bibliography. In addition, you should have practiced presenting this before you step in front of the class. Remember, you are the expert and you must show that expertise off in class. Remember your project is to choose a topic on the Crusades and research it in depth and create a visual presentation (Powerpoint or Keynote works) that covers the details. You are to become an expert on that subject and be able to present the details with the visual in a quality presentation in front of your class. You can partner with one other student or go solo. These presentations will be due the Friday we come back to school after Christmas break (January 4th). Be prepared to pass the finished presentation in on that day.
