Hello………………7th Grade,

(There is also information for 8th grade Science on my page)

 I hope you had a chance to enjoy your summer.

It’s back to school time and we will need to get back into school mode no exceptions!

  In Science both 7th and 8th grades students will be using a Science Interactive Journal A folder (preferably heavy duty)with pockets and plenty of loose leaf paper.   Each student will be responsible for completing all of the information necessary; if they are absent they will need to get the missed assignment from another student.

Your Science Interactive Journal will list all the investigations / experiments that we cover in class.  It will have a table of contents, and you will list information given by the teacher on one side while on the other side students will list creative pieces of the investigation that they have gathered for the assignment.

Your Science Interactive Journal is a very important and useful tool.  You will list information as is if you were a scientist investigating new field information. It will be new and exciting, something for you to look forward to.

 For both 7th and 8th grades

 This year there is no Science Fair time line because you were all given your Science Project information to be completed over the summer including your research paper.

Each student will be responsible for turning in all work on time. There will be no late pieces of the project accepted, example – Science Topic(Title), Purpose, Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure, Results and Conclusion, and also Science research papers(Review of Literature) NO EXCUSES -  NO EXCEPTIONS!

You have all done science research papers in the past this is no different!

  ** YOUR WRITTEN RESEARCH PAPER/ (REVIEW OF LITERATURE) IS DUE ON Your first day back at school, Don’t fall behind.   We need to start the year off right get ready and get it in gear!! You must be responsible for everything you do(behavior) and all the work you turn in.

**7th Grade will be responsible for Study Island in Science and you will need to get passing scores for each one to count as well, nothing less than a 80% will be accepted as a passing grade.   We will chart your progress in class to help you stay on track as well.

 Parents, I understand that emergencies arise, but if you need to see me Please call the office to set up an apponitment.

Another way to contact me is through e-mail dcesquibel@cps.edu.

You can e-mail me if you wish to set up an appointment, or just to get some general information.

Let’s start the school year off right!

 Parents let’s work as a team to get the students motivated and on track.

                          TEAMWORK = WORKING TOGETHER!!

It’s going to be a great year.
