     Week of September 15, 2008

Weekly Goals

Reading - This week students will learn and practice summarizing.  They will also practice finding word meaning through the use of context clues. 

Language - Students will continue working with conjunctions to combine sentences. 
     Spelling list:  uproar, gorge,  force,  scorn,  sword,  swore,  source,  course,  coarse,  chart,  barge,  harsh,  marsh,  heart,  scarce,  squares,  swear,  flare,  aboard,  fare,  thorn,  starch   

Math - Students will continue in chapter 1, place value from the 100 billions to the thousandths.

Social Studies - Students will continue in chapter 1, Early People and the Land.

Science - Students test out of chapter 6, The Rock Cycle.  They will then begin chapter 7, Changes to Earth's Surface.

Homework

Monday - Math -  ditto ps 1-1, 1-2,  Study Science chapter 6  

Tuesday -   Spelling - study ,  Science chapter 6 tests

Wednesday -   Spelling test, Reading Weekly Assessment, Grammar Quiz

Thursday - Math - ditto ps 1-3, 1-4
