Guidance 2011-2012

Hello Students! Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!

As your Guidance Counsellor I am here to support you with you academic, social,  emotional, and career needs.  If you have questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come see me at the guidance office.  You can drop in or schedule an appointment.

Grads:

For those of you who are considering going to NSCC next year, applications should be submitted as early as possible. Some of the programs fill up very fast and students may end up being placed on waiting lists.  If you haven't already sent in your application, it's time to do so.  You can apply online or pick up an application at the Guidance office.

For students who are applying to university, the deadlines vary amongst universities. Some universities will start accepting applications around the middle of October but deadlines for scholarship eligibility are generally only around mid March.  University applications can be done online or paper copies can be picked up at the Guidance office.  Also, if you would like to request your current transcript and cannot find me, please leave your name and info on the clip-board which is located on the book stand outside of my office door.

Scholarships:

The first scholarship opportunities available for you are the national scholarship which generally start coming out around late September, early October. Any new information regarding scholarships will be posted on the Guidance bulletin board outside the outer guidance area. You can also access this information on the BMHS website by clicking the Guidance Link.  Scholarship info will be provided within the Grade 12  newsletters as well.

To learn more, students are parents are invited to attend the Grade 12 info session, September 26th at 7pm!

If you have questions about scholarships please see me!
