See the three to two up

Practice writing the lowercase letters on the back.  Please do just one or two lines a day.  Please remember handwriting is very important, and the children really need to practice writing the letters using good D’Nealian form.

Tuesday – Do the attached math worksheets (if necessary, do this over 2 or 3 nights).

Using pennies nickels, make 2 groups, and ask your child to “add” them.  Do this 7 times.  What amounts did you use? ____________,

____________, ___________, ___________, ______________,

____________, ____________.

Wednesday – Make flashcards for the NUMBER words and practice recognizing the words.  The children should know basic sounds by now, and sound out simple words.

Thursday Practice writing your birth date. (Be sure to write neatly, otherwise it will need to be redone) Month – day – year.

As part of the children's daily homework, they should be practicing their flashcards everyday (even on weekends), counting out loud to 36, saying their alphabet, and recognizing the sound that letters make (phonics).

**Practice recognizing coins.

**Practice your child’s address, and telephone number.

** Practice having your child say your first and last names.  Many children cannot tell me who you are!
