Welcome to my English as a Second Language Page!
Grading: Students are given a daily grade for brining their materials to class each day. The required materials are: Textbook; agenda; ESL notebook; dictionary; pen or pencil. Please make sure to bring your things each day. Spelling tests/quizzes: In ESL, we tend to have more short quizzes instead of long tests. My spelling tests have three parts: spelling; definition; and part of speech. Spelling lists come from our reading, so be sure to study each night. Classwork: All work completed in class is graded and returned. Some activities, such as writing prompts, are assessed informally. Class Participation: I expect each student to participate in class according to his or her abilities. This Week in ESL I: We're going to the library today to select Independent Reading texts. On Tuesday, we'll be in the computer lab finishing our Social Studies Projects. Later in the week, we'll be studying about Jobs in our textbook.
