Please have your child work on memorizing their multiplication facts over the summer. This will be expected of them upon returning to school for third grade. Work on facts 0's through five's and if they master those, then continue with 6's, 7's, 8's and 9's. We have worked heavily on facts 0's through 5's during the fourth quarter of this year. Many have already mastered these.
Social Studies - Each student has chosen a famous person to do a research report on. They are currently reading two to three books about their chosen person and taking notes (this is a guided form of information to teach note taking). We will also be looking on the internet for pictures and any other interesting information. They will then prepare a research report on that famous person to read to the class. We will finish these projects up this week.
Science - vocabulary: We will learn how to classify animals into the main groups: reptiles, mammals, amphibians, fish, and birds
