Here is what's going on in class:

 SCIENCE-  We will soon be learning about rocks and minerals!

Look for our adopted animals to come home and spend the week with your child.  Accompanying them is a journal to write their experiences and adventures in. There have been some really exciting adventures! 

SOCIAL STUDIES-  We are now onto social studies where we explore and learn all about our great state! We have been working hard on the ABC's of NC.  This project might require some attention at home if reports are not complete on the due date.  We have completed letters A-M and are working on the rest!   Ask your students what they have learned each day about North Carolina.

MATH- In math right now we are digging deeper into fractions!  Study your facts EVERY NIGHT!  

READING- Your child should be bringing a reading log home every night.  It is imperative that your child read daily.  After they read, it is THEIR responsibility to bring you their log to sign.  Please make sure your child is succeeding in reading at home.  During our literacy block your child is given a reading contract.  Throughout the week they work on different skills.  Some are teacher led, while other require independent work in centers.  Please stress to your child the importance of using their time wisely and staying on task.
