Welcome to Mrs. Covington's Third Grade Class Website! Dear Parents and Families, Hello and welcome to this informational website! The third grade is a year of rapid academic growth and can often be a difficult transition for students. There is an increased expectation for academic and social independence, and these skills will be taught and focused on throughout the school year. I promise to do everything in my power to prepare your child for the fourth grade. It is my belief that the school, teacher, parent, and student working together as a team makes this transition smoother and more successful for everyone. If at anytime you have questions or concerns about your child's progress or success in the third grade, please do not hesitate to contact me, as I will not hesitate to contact you. Thank you in advance for your support and encouragement throughout the school year. Sincerely, Mrs. Abby Covington Homework I hope you have had some time to adjust to the *new* daily homework log. Students have one reading and one math assignment nightly. Some of these assignments will be for review and some will be for practice of what we are currently working on in class. Spelling: Students will be given individual spelling lists for the third grade high frequency words that they have missed on previous assessments. A list will be given on Monday and the tests on Friday. Please make sure you are taking the time to check over homework and make sure everything is complete BEFORE signing the agenda! |
