Dear Parents and Students,

Here are a few important things to keep in mind for the month of November

We will reinforce vocabulary and use Comprehension Toolkit  Reading Strategies.  We will also use strategies from Content Literacy.

Writing:  Our class will complete their writing piece for Writer’s Workshop and then begin Informative writing skills in paragraph form focusing on main ideas and supportive details.

Math:  Our class will be continue working on Multiplication and Division : Sentences and Algebra . Star Citizen Focus: Responsibility

Our class is making great strides towards their organizational skills and study skills. Please encourage them to keep them up.  I would like to remind students to share their completed assignments with you to review and then sign homework pad.  Please encourage students to begin to manage their time.

Suggestion:  set a timer and apply them to life skills such as asking them to clean their room, make their bed, take out the trash, etc. This practice will help them when given time constraints on assignments in class.

Remember: Homework should not take more than 45 minutes

      • Please sign that they spent that many minutes on it and stop!
      • Do they have a "homework spot" free from distractions?
      • Are they using their time wisely?

§  Is your child making up absent work or work missed by attending   instrumental music?
