The fourth nine weeks has begun!  I will continue to post a syllabus for all my classes.  The syllabus shows what we will do each day and when tests will be taken.

Students often have trouble keeping up with papers they are responsible for, such as classwork and study guides. To help with this responsibility I required every student to keep a three ring binder in my classroom. This helps students to keep important work in order. There are several built in incentive with this procedure. Students will be numbering every page that is added to their binder and maintaining an index that shows what each page is. Now they will know exactly how many pages they should have, where each one should go and what it is should it go missing. Lastly, at the end of each nine week period, a“Binder Test” will be given. This test will ask simple questions about the binder, such as, “How many pages are there?”. What is on page 10? If the student has maintained the index and numbered the pages during the nine weeks, then this will be an easy 100. I will be keeping a copy of my own and be prompting students to maintain this valuable discipline throughout the year.
