Welcome to the computer labs of Faith and Woodleaf Elementary Schools! Ms. Ungerer What we do in the Computer Lab: Teachers and students use the computer lab for a variety of purposes. Small groups may be sent in to work on a class project using presentation software or whole class instruction may take place introducing students to new programs for developing creative thinking, effective communication...the list goes on. The end goal is to prepare our students to be successful adults in the 21st Century. Technology in the Classroom: Each day, your child is exposed to a variety of technology uses: television, microwave, a register at a grocery store. In the classroom, teachers use interactive boards during daily lessons creating enthusiasm and motivating students to be attentive, focused and ready to learn. Many students have also used digital cameras, hand held voting devices and iPods for learning! Technology Collaboration: At Faith and Woodleaf Elementary Schools, the Technology Facilitator, Media Specialists and Curriculum Coaches work together with teachers to create lessons that teach traditional subjects with media and technology skills while using different technology tools. As the Technology Facilitator for both schools, it is my honor to be involved in this great team effort. Look at What We Can Do! Examples of how students are using information and technology in their classrooms both independently and with teacher guidance are displayed on Look at What We Can Do!
