7th Grade Social Studies

Welcome Back! A new year brings new opportunities! :o)

We are beginning to notice a lot of students are not turning in assignments. Please check your student's agenda to see what they have for homework.

What we're learning about:

  • We're in our last few weeks of looking at Africa before moving into Asia in the new 9 weeks!

oAfrican Countries Case Studies

In these chapters, we will look at individual African countries and talk about what life would be like if we lived in them!

Class Policies:

Bathroom: Students should use the restroom before or after class. Only in case of emergencies will students be permitted to use the restroom during class. If it is an emergency, we will use the 7th grade bathrooms and students should take the hall pass.

Agendas: Students will be responsible for maintaining their agendas on a daily basis. I will keep homework assignments written on the board in a designated area. Students are responsible for getting their agendas signed nightly and lack of a signature will earn the student a silent lunch.

Appropriate Behavior: We will follow the behavior plan, CARS:

C-Caring

A-Attentive

R-Respectful

S-Studious

By this point, 7th graders should know what is expected of them and high expectations will be set in my classroom.

Student Work: Students will keep their tests, quizzes, and other work in their folders in their class' crate. Homework should be turned in on time- late homework assignments will not be accepted.
