WEEK AT A GLANCE!

May 21, 2012 - May 25, 2012

MATH:  We will continue to engage in hands-on activities and games involving "Measurement".  We will also engage in "Calendar Math" activities, Math Learning Stations and identify and create AABBCC patterns for the month of May.

LANGUAGE ARTS/READING:  We will work on...The Story is:  This Is the Way We Go To School.  Letter Recognition, Letter Sound and Handwriting includes:  Yy & Qq, although we also work on Aa - Zz on a daily basis, especially Short Vowels: a, e, i, o, & u.  The Comprehension Skill is:  Draw Conclusions.  Phonological Awareness is:  Isolate /y/ & /kw/, Discriminate Letter Sounds, Consonant Blends and Oral Blending.  New High-Frequency Words are:  where  come.  Previous:  I  am  the  little  a  to  have  is  we  my  like  he  for  me  with  she  see  look  they  you  of  are  that  do  one  two  three  four  five  here  go  from  yellow  blue  green  what  said  was.  Our Language Arts/Reading Stations will coincide with the above areas.

STORY TIME/PROJECTS:  "Memorial Day / Father's Day" 

• On Monday, we will send home another "Read the Words and Sentences" that coincides with our current Reading Work.
• Mrs. Esselman, Patrick's mom, is our Computer Parent at 9:45 a.m on Monday.
  
• Mrs. Wright, Kennedy's mom, is our Parent Reader at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
• "Spirit Day" is on Friday!  Please be sure to send a lunch and/or a drink to school with your child if you did not order Fun Food!
  
• Our Kindergarten Graduation is at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 6/4 in the Gym.
