Sections 03/09 and 04 Homework Thursday February 2, 2012 Final typed copies editorials are due Friday February 3, 2012 Section 03/09 Book Club Projects due Tuesday February 7, 2012 Section 02 Homework -Thursday February 2, 2012 - Finish Rough Draft Editorial Section 01 - Editorials will be finished in class Friday February 3, 2012 Week of November 14, 2011 Homework Thursday November 17th Sections 04, 02, and 03/09 Finish reading chapter 1 The Outsiders pg. 1-18. Complete Pony Boy character web handout. Choose one other charcter from chapter 1 and create a web on the back of sheet for him. All groups get book distribution letter signed. Week of October 31, 2011 Sections 03,09,04 Night final project due Monday November 7, 2011 project choices: storyboard, collage, poems, journal, illustrated quotes, or mini-research. In class we will be involved in Writer's Workshop. Students will draft, revise, edit, and publish their memoir. Final piece will be typed 2-3 pages and is due Thursday November 10th. Homework: 11/01- finish bold beginnings-section 04 Sections 01 and 02 We just finished reading Night today. Students will be assigned a project tomorrow and also begin drafting their memoirs in class. Due dates to follow. Homework- 11/01 Answer questions for memoirists on separate paper Welcome to a new school year! In ELA we are still establishing rituals and routines for Reader's and Writer's Workshop. Materials needed are 2 marble composition books, pens and pencils, a highlighter, folder, and 1 1/2" binder for notes and handouts. Week of September 12, 2011 All classes Reflective Letter Writing Assignment due Friday September 16th. Student reflection as a reader and writer, strengths and weaknesses, and goals for Language Arts this year. Format for this letter is a friendly letter, it may be neatly handwritten in blue or black ink or typed. We are working on rough drafts Tuesday and Wednesday in class. Final copy should be completed for homework. |
