(see file attachments)

*SECOND QUARTER PROJECT UPDATES:

The instructions for the second quarter have been changed slightly.  These changes only reflect the requirements for the Works Cited page, and will make use of some new resources designed to help students construct a proper works cited page.  As of this update, the changes have NOT been applied to the instructions available for download here.  Please see Mr. Shock in class to get the appropriate updates!

BLOGGING:

This year, we are trying to make use of the Internet in a positive, education way.  With today's expanding technology, creating web content through the use of blogs and other means is an important skill for today's generation of learners.  We are giving assignments on a roughly weekly basis that involve your son or daughter creating a blog (or web-based journal entry).  To do this, we are using the Gaggle service.  This is a secure site that gives students an email account, access to discussion boards (which we will be using as well), as well as their own blog.

If you have access to the Internet from home, we strongly encourage you to allow your child access to the potential of this resource!  Permission, however, must be given before your child can access Gaggle.  If you have not already sent back a permission form, you can download one from here (see file attachments).

More information can be found at Gaggle's website: http://www.gaggle.net
