PEEK AT THE WEEK!! 5/21/12 - 5/25/12  THIS WEEK IN: Religion - We will discuss Chapter 18 Test on Friday 5/25/12 http://www.blestarewe.com/family/kids/baw_units/2unit4.html Reading - We will read the story "Babu's Song". Grammar - We will learn about synonyms and antonyms and review sentence punctuation. Phonics - We will learn about r-controlled vowels spelled with -ire, -ier, & -ure. REMEMBER to practice with IXL every night also!!! http://www.ixl.com/ Science - We will REVIEW Chapter 9 - Energy TEST ON THURSDAY 5/24/12 SPECIALS SCHEDULE: Monday Tuesday - Gym & Art Wednesday - Library & Computers Thursday - Music Friday **Monday & Friday will be Gym recess. Make sure to bring Gym shoes on those days. ***We will switch for Science and Social Studies on Monday and Friday afternoons. Mrs. Lotti’s SPELLING PICK THREE (to be done weekly for homework) Rainbow Writing- write your spelling words in pencil and then use two or three different colored crayons to trace over the words. Story- Write a story using at least 10 spelling words. Comic Strip- Create a comic strip using at least 7 spelling words. Sentences- Write sentences using 10 of your words. Computer Writing- Type your spelling list on the computer & print it out. (try different fonts) ABC Order- Write all of your spelling words in ABC order. (first 15, not challenge words) ZYX Order- Write all of your spelling words in ZYX order. (first 15, not challenge words) Word Search- Make a list of your 15 words on a word search program, print it out & highlight the words. (http://puzzlemaker.com) 3x's Each- Write each of the 15 spelling words 3x's each. Definitions – Write the definition to 10 of your spelling words. Write 8 of your spelling words in the shape of the first letter it starts with. (EXAMPLE: each- write it in the shape of an e) Have an adult give you a practice test at home. Be sure the test is signed and corrected by the adult. Write all 15 spelling words. Circle the vowels in each word. Write all 15 spelling words once. Divide the words into syllables using slashes. Write all 15 spelling words once. Go over all the consonants in blue and all the vowels in red. Write all 15 spelling words in bubble letters. Write all 15 spelling words in pyramid form.
