Welcome to the second quarter of the 2010-11 school year. We have had a very busy first quarter and are working hard toward our goals. While we have been working hard to assess our progress, we have also stopped to celebrate our successes. We have celebrated the success of our achieving our ABC goals from 2009-10, celebrated with our fall festival the great first quarter behavior of our students, have had Bingo for Books and the book fair, and have celebrated grades 3-5 Academic Achievements. This week, all K-5 students will perform a variety of Readers Theater works on Tuesday, November 16 at 2:15. On Wednesday, November 17 at 9:00, K-2 students will have their Academic Achievement awards ceremony.
We will break for Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 23 at 1:30, so that students and parents will have time to get a great spot for the parade. We will not return to school until Monday, November 29. I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We will begin our Canned Food drive for the holidays upon our return from Thanksgiving. This year, our goal will be to donate 2011 cans to the Main Street Mission. This food drive is an important event to our community, as it teaches our children the importance of caring and being an involved community member. The children will caravan their donations to the Mission on December 10 and watch the shelves fill up! On Thursday, December 9 at 6:30, we will have our annual Winter PTA program. This year, our Kindergarten team will be in charge of the entertainment as they present "Snowball Fight". As the holidays approach, we encourage you to utilize our can recycling center that is located at the back of our building. Each time that we empty the recycling center, our Go Green Club makes money. Please help us to help the earth and to support Go Green. |
