Welcome to Mrs. Lundgren's School Notes Page Art 1 This course is designed for the beginning art student and covers basic techniques using various media. Students are not expected to be proficient in drawing. There is no fee for this class, but students will be required to buy some basic supplies like pencils and a sketchbook. A complete supply list is provided at the beginning of the semester. Folk Art This course focuses on arts created by untrained artist and arts from other cultures. Students create a variety of 2D and 3D projects with little drawing required. Projects include things like weaving, clay, painting, and altered books. There is a $25.00 fee for materials. Donation There is always a need for extra supplies. Any material commonly used in the arts is much appreciated. Needed materials include latex house paint, craft supplies, art books, paint brushes, scrap wood, and fabric. Donations may be left under the covered patio outside of my room or left at the front office. Fine Arts Academy Carson is the Fine Arts Academy in Rowan County. Students who participate follow a pathway which includes four classes in their art's concentration choice, and two classes in another art's field. There are special requirements that students must complete. Some of the most important benefits include creating a college portfolio, and recognition on college transcripts and at graduation. More information can be sent home to those interested in this program. |
