House Cleaning Items Entry #1

Good evening Parents:
There are a few House Cleaning Items I want to review.
1. We are moving into the new building. Please be patient with me as I prepare my new classroom. Please visit me during open house on Sept. 22nd 6-8 p.m.
2. A few issues with dress code:
A. Students should not be wearing duck tape (various colors or team colors) on any part of their body or clothing.
B. Students need to have their shirts tucked in and not pulled back into a band or a hair band in the back. Unfortunately, that is not "tucked in" and is not acceptable.
3. Cell phones should be off and not be visible! Cell phones should be in their back packs or completely in their pocket so no one can see it. They can not be seen or heard.
I understand these are things that we check on a daily basis but it is only to ensure a productive/safe learning environment for your child. Please help me and encourage your child to follow policies laid out at MMS and the Polk County School Board.
Thank you for what you do! :) You make a diference!
Interim Reports September 23rd

Good evening!
I hope your child has had a great start to their 7th grade year. Remind them that tomorrow is always a new day!
Interim reports go out September 23rd. I have updated grades tonight so you may view your child's current grade. I will send home their grades by Friday so if they have a missing assignment they will have this weekend to complete it and turn it in.
Please encourage your child to ask the teacher if they have any questions about their assignment. Remind them they the only name that appears on their high school diploma is theirs. They can not worry about their friends or other students. It is up to them to get their education. Encourage them to take advantage of the learning opportunties so they will be prepared for the real world.
Thank you so much parents for what you do. I know these are difficult times and we both want the same thing for your child--to be successful at whatever they decide to do. Encourage your child to reach for that success and tap into their resources (you, teachers, books, mentors, and other caring indivdiauls that want to see your child succeed).

Welcome back to MMS or Welcome if this is your first time at MMS.
You will need paper, pen/pencil, composition notebook, folder, reading material and a positive attitude for Ms. Trawick's reading class.
I am looking forward to being your Reading teacher this 2011-2012 school year. I only expect your best attitude and that you try NO MATTER WHAT.
Parents, I look forward to working with you and your child during their educational development. Our goal as educators and parents is to groom our children to become productive members of society enabling them to provide for themselves and their family. I am pleased to be a part of that.
