Welcome to Mrs. Robinson'sThis year is going by so fast! The students are adjusting well to the first grade and working hard! At this point in the year, the students have been exposed to most of their High Frequency words for first grade. It is very important that you help your student review these words frequently to ensure that they still know how to spell and read them. The word bank (that is located in your student's homework folder) will be a great tool. They have also been assessed on reading their High Frequency words, and the words they were unable to read were typed and placed in their homework folder. If your student doesn't have a list of words in their folder that is because they read all of the first 70 words correctly! Now that we have learned most of our High Frequency words, please encourage your student to become more independent when reading and writing. They should begin using the new words in their writing and should be able to identify them when reading books. Thank you for your continued support, and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask! Also, remember that you were given a first grade pamphlet at our first conference which lists everything that we will cover this year. I look forward to all of the progress we are going to continue to make in the second half of the year! |
