Ms. Beck's 4th Grade!
Math: In math we are working on multiplication and division. Please be practicing these facts at home daily. It is very important the student memorize these facts and be able to answer them with in seconds. These facts will be used in higher math strategies through out the year, so they need to learn them now. Reading: In reading we are working on our 12 powerful words. Your child should be able to tell you these 12 powerful words and there meanings. They should even be able to do a dance for you-just ask. We are using these 12 powerful words to better comprehend what we read. Therefor after your child reads ask them questions using these 12 powerful words. (Ex. Summarize what you just read in less than 5 sentences.) Social Studies: PIRATES-PIRATES-PIRATES!!! We are working on a very large unit of pirates. Your child is learning all types of amazing pirate information. They have their own pirate to research and they are also learning how to use pirate vocabulary. The students will soon be creating a treasure map using a grid in math. Pirates will be used in every subject we study over the next few months. They realllllly enjoy Pirates!!! Parents, please make sure to check and sign agendas daily. Homework will be recorded in these agendas. If student's behavior has been appropriate for the majority of the day they will receive a stamp in the agenda daily. If there is no stamp there will be an explanation of behavior. **Practice those multiplication facts....they should have them memorized by Christmas :)** WISH LIST ITEMS: Hand Sanitizer, Lysol Wipes, Stamps, Treats for Prize Box, Candy for basket, books, games and puzzles.
