Hello "Gator" science students !

This is going to be your best school year ever !!!

My plan this year is to cover: Safety in the classroom first. Followed by:scientific method & inquiry, Metrics, classification, cells, main idea & reading skills - all year long. More topics to follow later.

We will be using a class set of textbooks - however, I will also be sending a textbook home this year! It will only need to be brought back to school on "book check days," and at the end of the school year.

Speaking of the agenda - each Friday we are having "agenda checks" - so please make sure that you sign it at the bottom of the page...thanks !!!(+5 extra credit points !)

We are using the agenda's as our main form of communication.

Interim grades will be sent home every 2 weeks --- starting on September 5, 2008...so be sure to ask for them.

EXTRA CREDIT : Every day the students enter our room and I have "bell work" question on the board. If they copy the question and answer it, in to their composition book --- they receive 2 points for their effort...I collect them in groups of 25 (=50 pts.) PLUS - if the student get their test signed by a parent / guardian with in 2 days --- I will add + 5 points their test score ( I will do this all year long.)

Parents, look at the back of page # 3 in your childs science folder. This is my students individual grade sheet. Points returned, should be recorded here. Divide their total by the number in the corner of the last box, this is their current grade.

Agenda : ***PLEASE READ PAGES # 1 - # 14.***

All very important information; makeup work, clinic, discipline, etc. I will be handing out pages for the students science journals / folders almost daily...one of these will cover my grading policy's. Basically things are still the same...everything a student hands in is worth points : homework, tests, bell work, labs, projects, etc. All are worth points, so the more points they receive - the higher their average will be ! Thanks for your support We are going to have a GREAT year - - 701-1066

Mr. Circe.

PS - If you would like to donate a roll of paper towels, liquid hand soap or even a box of tissues - that would be a great help to all of my students.

PPS - School interim reports will be sent home on the following dates: "see page # 3 of the student agenda."

Currently-we are studying animal & plant cells. Chapter 2, sec. 1.  Next will be bacteria & viruses.
