Website Highlight:
Many of the sites we have highlighted are resources for parents to help children reach their reading potential. This week, I would like to highlight a Math tool.
This website is full of lessons, review sessions, games, and activities on all mathematical levels.
One particular game on this site is Lemonade Stand. We “opened” a stand on Friday and the students had fun problem-solving and trying to make a profit, in spite of bad weather. On Tuesday, when we visit the computer lab, we are going to see who can turn the most profit in their own Lemonade Stand.
Check it out! It is quite fun!

Dress-Up Book Reports:
This Friday, October 28, students will be presenting Dress-Up Book Reports.
The Dress-Up Book Report is not the same as the Reading Fair Project. While the Reading Fair is an optional opportunity for students, The Dress-Up Book Reports are a required assignment and will count toward both Reading and Language Arts grades. This is the first of many opportunities for students to fulfill the National Common Core Standard for Listening and Speaking.
