Welcome Back:

It is hard to believe the summer is already over.  I am looking forward to working with you and your student this year.  I have one goal in mind: Your child will score a 3 or better on the FCAT and enjoy reading as much as I do.  I will be working close with you and your student to ensure we meet this goal.  We must work as a team.  The homework is described below.  This will be a constant throughout the school year.  Thanks for your support and I look forward to working with each and everyone of you.

Homework Notes:

Your child is expected to reading for 20 minutes Monday through Thursday.  On Mondays and Wednesdays this will be a free choice reading, on Tuesdays and Thursdays I will provide them with a specific reading assignment.  On Friday they turn in their signed logs. This homework will begin after the Labor Day holiday.  I also will be completing this homework weekly and bringing my signed paper in on Fridays.  If mine is not signed, theirs will be considered extra credit otherwise it will count for 20 points weekly.  It has been proven the more a student reads the better reader they become.  I appreciate your support to ensure your student's success in reading.

Grade Notes:

At Mulberry Middle, interim reports are sent home every 2 weeks on a Friday.  Keep your eyes open for these reports to monitor your student's success.
